Schoenke, F.
F. SCHOENKE advertised himself as a watchmaker and photographer, with a portrait studio. He flourished as a photographer in Foochow (Fuzhou) from 1862 to 1889. Schoenke may well have taken several of the Foochow (Fuzhou) and Fukien Province (Fujian) photographs in the Oswald collection (see Terry Bennett History of Photography in China - Western Photographers 1861-1879, Quaritch 2010, pages 143-147). Schoenke died on 23 June 1889.
