Mactavish & Lehmann had a photography/pharmacy shop at No 1 The Bund, Shanghai - and later at the junction of Broadway and Soochow Road (North), Shanghai. As well as being a dispensing chemist (pharmacy), perfumery and importer of surgical instruments, Mactavishes were also suppliers of cameras, plates, film, paper, and other photographic accessories. Mactavish & Lehmann also sold photographs and post cards to residents and visitors. The company ran a dark room for the use of amateur photographers at the Hongkew Medical Hall at the junction of Broadway and Soochow Road (North), Shanghai.
