University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: AB01-09. Cixi’s palace, the Yiluan Dian (儀鸞 殿, 仪鸾殿, Ceremonial Crane Hall). Temporarily the palace was the residence of Count Graf von Waldersee and German officers. The palace and nearby buildings were accidentally burnt down during the night of 17-18 April 1901 (See Niklas Leverenz “The Looting of the Winter Palace in Peking in 1900-1901”). See NA06-01.
