The soldiers (Scottish Company, Shanghai Volunteer Corps) are guarding the war memorial and the wreaths laid for the First World War dead from Scottish regiments. This photograph was probably taken after the St Andrew's Day Observance remembrance event at the War Memorial (see AL-s31) and at the Union Church on 29th November 1925.
