University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Ar01-011. The caption in the album: 雷峰夕照 Leifeng xizhao = ‘Leifeng Pagoda in the sunset’. The pagoda was built in 975 during the Northern Song dynasty and rebuilt in later periods. It collapsed in 1924 shortly after the entry of Sun Chuan Fang's troops into Hangchow. The pagoda was reconstructed in 2002.
