University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Ar01-022. The caption in the album: 于少保墓 Yu Shaobao mu = Yu Shaobao’s tomb. The captioning on the photograph: 于忠墓 Yu Zhong = Yu Zhong’s tomb. The four characters above the entrance to the grave describe the characteristics of Yu Qian, as loyal, obedient and ambitious. Yu Qian (1398-1457), who is also known as Yuqian, Yu Ch'ien, Yu Zhongsu, Yu Shaobao, Tingyi and Jie'an, was a Ming dynasty official born in Hangzhou in 1398. The memorial temple for Yu Qian has been completely rebuilt.
