The water gate (or sluice-gate) under the wall of the Tartar City, Peking (Beijing) - through which British Indian troops entered on 14th August 1900, to break the Siege of the Legations (Boxer Uprising). The sluice-gate was 500 metres away from the British Legation. See also BL-n012 and NA03-32.
