University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: BL-s094. A modern copy print made by the Billie Love Historical Collection. It is thought that the original photograph was once owned by John Barr Affleck (1878-1941), H.B.M. Consul-General at Tianjin, and later belonged to his son John Proctor Affleck (1930-2004) and his wife Elaine. The caption on the back of the copy print was written by Billie Love Historical Collection. Xiuyi Bridge or Bridge of Embroidered Ripples (绣漪桥) is near the south Ruyi gate to Kunming Lake, New Summer Palace, Yiheyuan, Peking (Beijing). Paddleboat photographed from a towed boat.
