University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: EB-s0383. This German-built narrow-gauge railway line ran from Beidaihe railway station to the beach at Beidaihe. Each flat trolley was pulled by a mule ('1mph engine'). One of the trolleys is flying the Union Jack. Shanhaiguan (Shan-hai-kuan) is now a district of the city of Qinhuangdao.

Was on the last trolley, so snaped the 'tothers in front - on our way to Shanhaikuan station. 3 miles
