University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: FD-s305. The Temple of Sumeru Happiness and Longevity (Xu Mi Fu Shou Miao; Xumi Fashou Temple), Chengde, was built in honour of a visit by the Panchen Lama in 1779. The temple is modelled on the Panchen Lama's own monastery, the Tashilhunpo, in Shigatse, Tibet. See Hv04-095.
