The four-stringed instrument on the right is probably a pipa. Fokein [sic] for Fokien (Fujian). Sinchune is now Xingcun. Photograph by Lai Fong (Afong Studio). This image is reproduced in 'History of Photography in China, Chinese Photographers 1844-1879' by Terry Bennett (Quaritch 2013), on page 151, and captioned: '63. Chung-ang.
