University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: HD-s49. HD-s49 is a detail from HD-s43. The plot of 'The Chimney Corner', a domestic drama, by H.T. Craven can be gathered from a detailed report in the North-China Herald of a performance by the Amateur Dramatic Club on Tuesday 3 June 1873, at the Club Concordia (NCH 7 June 1873). However this performance had a different cast from HD-s43. Chitty (sic) should be Mr Charles Chetty. G. Barton is mentioned as an oarsman, Bankers' Cup (NCH 31 Oct 1872).
