University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Hh-s171. Felix Hookham is reading ‘The Specialist’ by Charles Sale. To his left: his wife Hilda (aka Nita) Hookham and daughter Peggy (Margaret Evelyn Hookham, later Dame Margot Fonteyn de Arias, DBE, 1919-1991). ‘The Specialist’ is a humorous tale, famous in its day, about a philosophical carpenter building an outside toilet. The implied joke in this photograph may relate this book to Peggy’s newly built paper model castle?
