University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Hn06-184. Abe worked for MGM Films in Tianjin in the 1940s. Maurice was awarded with many honours for his longstanding service (rising to the rank of Assistant Commissioner) to the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force and then to the Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force including the Colonial Police Medal for Meritorious Service (1961), the Queen’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (1973), and a Member of the Order of the British Empire (1973).
