Historical: Southwell Brothers comprised William Henry Southwell (1823-1870), Frederick Southwell (1833-1883) and Edwin Southwell (1840-1882) who worked together as prominent portrait photographers of London Victorian society. General note: Title from album caption. Subject: F.E. Wright joined the Chinese Maritime Customs Service in 1859 and eventually was appointed Audit Secretary, serving in this position from 1874-1878 and 1880-1881.
