The edible fruit of trees belonging to the species Durio are distinctive for their large size, pungent aroma (considered disgusting / sweetly fragrant) and thorny rind. The fruit is popular in China and is regarded as a source of energy and vitality. Durians tastes like custard mixed with almonds.
