The caption in the Index for this photograph should be: 'On the occasion of the Durhan Light Infantry joining Shanghai Defense Forces.' Durhan is a typographical error for Durham. The lapel pin worn by the officer on the left indicates Royal Welch Fusiliers. In the background is part of the Park Hotel (Guoji Fandian) and the Foreign YMCA. See Ro-s073 (a photograph of an officer from same regiment, perhaps the same person).
