University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: JW-s30. This image is on a cigarette card ('Ogden's Guinea Gold Cigarettes') made of photographic paper. Cigarette cards were supplied free in a packet of cigarettes. The (British) Royal Navy used commercial dry docks at Aberdeen. Hong Kong was indeed the British naval headquarters in China, but this photograph does not show the naval headquarters. Photograph by Neville P. Edwards. See Bk02-04.
