University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: ML02-d056. Lü Zhengcao (吕正操) was the commader of the Jizhong military area. The historian George Edward Taylor (1905-2000), author of 'The Struggle for North China' (Institute of Pacific Relations, 1940), accompanied Lindsay on this trip. This photograph was reproduced in ‘The Unknown War, North China 1937-1945' by Michael Lindsay (London, 1975), with the caption: Parade to welcome Michael Lindsay and George Taylor at General Lu Cheng-ts'ao's Headquarters at Jen-ch'iu.
