University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: ML03-d021. The war memorial, built by the Eighth Route Army, was completed in August 1941, and destroyed on 15 October 1941. See an account of this in 'Dragon Fangs' by Claire and William Band (George Allen & Unwin, 1947) on pages 130-131. The Jinchaji Border Region War Resistance Martyrs' Memorial (晋察冀边区抗战烈士纪念塔) was near Dr Norman Bethune (白求恩)'s grave and memorial.
