University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: ML06-d038. Ma Haide (1910-1988), who was born as Shafik George Hatem, was an American doctor who practised medicine in China. His son Zhou Youma (周幼马) was born in 1943. James (Jim) Francis Lindsay, 3rd Baron Lindsay of Birker, was born in Yan'an on 29 January 1945.
