Photo from an album (UoB reference Os03) kept in the School of Oriental and African Studies Archives, London (SOAS reference MS 380 876/3). A photograph of a photomontage: the whole body of W.G. and the head of A.P.S., superimposed onto a photo of a water buffalo and a calf; the whole then photographed. W.G. might be W.Gittins? Probably the domestic Asian water buffalo (Bubalus bubalis).
