University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Pa02-089. Photo from an album (UoB reference Pa02). Woosung II was built in 1918 by Taikoo Dockyard and Engineering Co., Hong Kong and registered in London. The ship was captured by the Japanese in 1942 and renamed ‘Reizen Maru’. On 18 January 1945 she struck a mine in the River Yangtze. Heavily overloaded, there were more than 2,000 casualties when she sank. See also Sw04-075 and Sw04-091.
