My dear Colonel I wish you a Merry Xmas and a prosperous 1935. This is my office an old [...] built a thousand years ago! Tang Dynasty's Yamen. I regret very much having been deprived of the pleasure of seeing you in Shanghai. Hope Mrs Ruxton and your good self are in the best of health. Sincerely Kuo Shao Tsung. 5/12/34.
