Peak House (or Taikoo House or Tai Koo House), The Peak, Hong Kong, was built on land acquired by Butterfield and Swire in 1888 and the house was ready for occupation in June 1889. Warren Swire described this property, which was shrouded in cloud for many months of the year, and so was damp and gloomy, as 'an old barrack'. See Sw17-012, Sw17-013, Sw17-014 and Sw17-015.
