This negative is referenced H75. The album itself has also been archived at some stage with the reference 62/VI. On the left is SS WULIN; on the right SS WAN YUAN 萬源 (1939-42), a small steamer with a flared bow. WAN YUAN 萬源 (1939-42) 674/39 (2-sc., T6cy; 18 pass., wood oil in bulk) was built by Shanghai D.Y. Ltd (Mitsui Heavy Industries Ltd), Shanghai for Upper Yangtse use, launched 8/2/39 for China Nav. Co. Ltd and completed for Taikoo Chinese Nav. Co. Ltd, Shanghai (Br.). 9/39 t/f to Hong Kong. 12/41 comm. by RN at Singapore for conversion to patrol vessel. 12/2/42 stern and machinery sabotaged by RN in Keppel Drydock in Singapore - 15/2 wreck seized by Japanese r. 工船二号 KOSEN 2 GO (580 grt) and intended for use as a floating workshop. Later re-engined (probably ex gold dredge engines) and operated by Mitsubishi Kisen K.K on Singapore-Jakarta troop and supplies run. Retrieved postwar and scuttled by RN 1947, location unknown.
