University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Sw19-067. Khaki cloth Eastman Negative Album, 12 cm x 16 cm. 153 negatives (sized 3.25 inches x 5.5 inches -:- 92mm x 147mm). The album was later labelled P1/V on the back cover. Bang bang men (porters) - carrying pails of water - on the steps, near Taipingmen Wharf. Taiping Men is the name of a district in Chungking (Chongqing), by the Yangzte River. The pole may indicate a temple - a pole is a symbol of a place of worship in China. See Sw19-066 and Sw19-068.
