Huashana 花沙納 a Mongol, along with He Guiqing 何桂清, and Guiliang 桂良, a Manchu, had been sent to Shanghai to negotiate tariff rates. Photograph by William Jocelyn, taken at the British Consulate, Shanghai. A wood engraving of this image (flipped) was published in 1859 in 'Narrative of the Earl of Elgin's Mission to China and Japan' by Laurence Oliphant, entitled 'Hwashana, Second Imperial Commissioner'.
