Notes

University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: JC-s107. This image is from a cigarette card ('Ogden's Guinea Gold Cigarettes') made with photographic paper. Cigarette cards were supplied free in a packet of cigarettes. See an almost complete set of Boxer Uprising 'Ogden's Guinea Gold' cigarette cards in the Jim Williams Collection (for example JW-s14). Note the fire scorched sleepers, indicative of damage by sabotage by Boxer rebels. Yangtsun (now Wuqing)
