University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Ca01-073. Cut from a magazine article about the capture of the Taku or Peiho Forts (Tanggu). The U.S.S. 'Monocacy' was an American navy side-wheeler gunboat built during the American Civil War. She served for many years in Chinese waters. See Os01-118, Os01-119 and Os01-120.
