A shop in the street running from the Meridian Gate (Wumen), Beijing

Notes

University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Ca01-118. This shop would have been in a street running southwards from the "Hou-Mên" (Wu Mên, Wumen or Meridian Gate). The three Chinese characters above the shop mean sky, east and (?)luck - most likely being a name for the building.  A cart loaded with wooden buckets/containers is parked in the road on the left and a Peking cart is on the right.
