University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Ca02-008. Photo from an album (UoB reference Ca02). The banner states that it is for Mr Jiǎ (James W. Carrall), who was responsible for customs/taxation. The merchants celebrate his widespread benelovent administration, which has benefited people near and far. Dr Mary Tiffen has one of the scrolls. They were presented to James W. Carrall by the merchants of Chefoo (Yantai) in recognition of his services. It looks like the same table is in Ca02-074.
