University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: GV02-11. Characters painted on to the landing stage boat, from left to right: 白[?]國铅 'bai' [?] 'guo'? 'qian'? The penultimate character could be 铅 'qian', which is lead (the metal). Many of the men are wearing turbans.
