Subject: Sanshan'an, or Three Hill Nunnery, is part of Badachu (Eight Great Sites), a park with eight ancient Buddhist temples and monasteries located at the foot of Beijing's Western Hills district. Nowadays Shijingshan District (石景山区), Beijing. Provenance: Purchased from Lucy Drew, 1949. Access to original photographs and albums in the Edward Bangs Drew Collection is restricted.
