University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: JC-s407. A ‘living device’ decoration, for the coronation of King Edward VII. About two hundred sailors serving on H.M.S. Terrible formed the words 'God Save The King' on the ship’s side, whilst more men lined the deck. Post card sent from Battersea, London to Miss M. Le Quesne, Jersey, Channel Islands. Message on the back of the post card: ‘We had a lovely passage home. I preserved my equilibrium except for five minutes when I and my breakfast dissolved partnership / A.A.
