University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: JC-s741. This is an image on a post card published by Lau Ping Kee, 10 Queen’s Road Central, Hong Kong. Waglan Island is in the Po Toi group of islands, Hong Kong. The lighthouse began operating in 1893 and is Hong Kong’s oldest functioning lighthouse. It was built by Barbier and Bénard, 82 Rue Curial, Paris, France for the Chinese Imperial Maritime Customs Service. See DH-s002.
