University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: JW-s24. This image is on a cigarette card ('Ogden's Guinea Gold Cigarettes') made of photographic paper. Cigarette cards were supplied free in a packet of cigarettes. Situated on the central north–south axis, south of Tiananmen Square, and formerly named Lizhengmen (丽正门), this gate guarded the southern entry into the Inner City (Tartar City).
