University of Bristol – Historical Photographs of China reference number: Jo02-31. The Bubbling Well apparently dates to the third century AD, the bubbling caused by the eruption of carbonic acid gas. Bubbling Well Road is now Nanjing Xi Lu. In the background is the Jing'an Temple - see Ep01-128. See also RA-m019.
