University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: ML06-d009. Photograph by Major (later Colonel) Wilbur J. Peterkin. Huang Hua (1913-2010) was a Yenching graduate and the secretary of General Zhu De. He served as a military liaison officer to the U.S. mission in Ya'nan in 1944. Later, as a diplomat, he facilitated talks that led to President Richard Nixon visiting Beijing in 1972.
