Photograph taken at the wedding of Michael Lindsay and Hsiao Li Lindsay at Yenching University (燕京大學), Beijing (北京) on 25th June 1941. Michael Lindsay's father-in-law, Li Wenqi, was a retired colonel from the Shansi (Shanxi) Provincial Army. The Lis were a leading family in the small town of Li-shih in Western Shanxi.
