University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: NA22-02. From an album in The National Archives referenced as: ‘HONG KONG 9. Work of the Chinese and British Boundary Commissioners delimiting the New Territories, 1898 (CO 1069/452)’. The New Territories Boundary Delimitation Commission, March 1899. Photographed during meetings between them, held on 11th and 14th March 1899. Wang Cunshan 王存善 (1849-1916) is first from the right in the front row; James Haldane Stewart Lockhart (1858-1937) is second from the right in the front row. Names of the other persons are not known, though the European standing between Lockhart and Wong is likely Robert Daly Ormsby, Director of Public Works, who also participated in the delimitation. This photograph was probably taken in Shenzhen 深圳. See NA22-03 (same group). See https://gwulo.com/node/55180.
