University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: PF01-35. This photograph by John Thomson, similar to one by Tung Hing, was published by John Thomson in his book, 'Foochow and the River Min' (1873). Fangguanyan temple (方广岩寺), which still stands, was also known as Yuen Fu (Yuen Foo) Monastery (or Joss House). On the left is Tianquan Hall; on the right Avalokiteshvara Hall.
