Caption in Fiddament's notebook: "Shanghai. At Kian Gwan airfield early morning (impounded!) - Sentry! Officer cashiered as result 4/12/45". The aircraft is a Royal Air Force Transport Command Avro Type 691 Lancastrian (serial number VM701). The location is the Kian Gwan (Kiangwan) Airfield ( Jiangwan airport), in the Yangpu district of north-east Shanghai.
