Hats made probably from leaf of banana tree identifis this picture with Taiwan, which I visited in 1950. Women are probably fertilizing cabbage patch with mix of human and animal dung. Use of protective face mask is probably something Japanese suggested before 1941. Island was called Formosa, after J. occupation in war of 1994-95. ==Malcolm
