University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Tr02-189. The S.S. 'Cordillere' was an ocean liner owned by the French merchant shipping company Messageries Maritimes. It was operational from 1896 until 1925. It was used for postal services in East Asia from 1914. In 1922 it was repaired in Shanghai.
