University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Tr03-092. Inscription in the altar: 注生娘娘 (Zhu Sheng Niang Niang). This is a Daoist fertility goddess who is particularly worshipped by people from Southern China, notably Hokkien and Teochew (Chaozhou) communities. Probably at Kek Lok Si (極樂寺), a Chinese Buddhist temple at Ayer Itam (Air Itam), George Town, Penang, Malaysia. See JC-s210, Tr-m50 and Tr03-091.
