University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: VH02-019. Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution reference: L04357-006d. Rope Walk Road was later renamed Nanking Road (now Nanjing Dong Lu). This print was cut neatly around the outline of the roofs of the buildings prior to being stuck in the album. The words "L.G.Dunlop" are written on the page of the album, and refers to Ludovic Grant Dunlop, who was a partner in Birley, Worthington & Co. - see VH02-017. See VH01-003, where the caption seems to read: "Chun-tai" rather than Chun-lai. See also VH02-181 and VH02-184.
