First of a four-part panoramic photograph, see VH03-61, VH03-62 and VH03-63. The Praia Grande is also known by its local Cantonese romanisation Nam Van 南灣 (lit. ‘South Bay’, Nan wan in Mandarin). The hill on the left is Penha Hill (Colina da Penha 西望洋山). On the right (near the join of the prints) is the Governor’s Palace (built in 1849).
