This photograph was published in ‘Scenes Taken in China of the Boxer War and the Late Revolution (Peking-Tientsin Pub. Co.) and captioned: ‘71 Hauling away goods to save them from looters, Tientsin.’ The photograph was also reproduced in J.O.P. Bland's 'Recent Events and Present Policies in China' (1912), on page 386 – and captioned: “Loot and refugees, Tientsin, March, 1912. Photo, Camera Craft Co." Relates to the Peking Mutiny (北京兵变). As the Chinese City part of Tianjin burned, people moved out goods and chattels as fast as possible. See WC01-195.
