University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Gr01-193. Three images on one post card. Possibly in, or near, Tientsin (Tianjin). In the image bottom right, a Japanese soldier, with bayonet fixed, looks over rooftops. On some of the roofs, plants are growing, on others vegetable matter is drying – both measures presumed to be food-related, due to wartime conditions.
